SYNOPSIS:
Life in Ankober rural area (Ethiopia) is told by his habitants in a constant confrontation and meditation over the possibilities and ‘impossibilities’ (mainly political) of NGO ActionAid to carry on it work. From the oldest to the youngest children of the village in the area, the poorest speaks out their needs together with their qualities, while actors Rolando and Valentina confront each other on the meaning of taking our own responsibility.

BIOGRAPHY:
Valentina Carnelutti is an Italian actress and screen writer. She has worked with film directors such as Marco Tullio Giordana (The best of youth), Theo Angelopoulos (The dust of time), Paolo Virzì (A life ahead), Citto Maselli (Le ombre rosse), Angelo Orlando (Sfiorarsi) and many more. Her screenplay “Sfiorarsi” has been produced in 2005 and the short film “Requiem” is actually in production. “Melkam Zena” is her first documentary, her first film as a director.
