SYNOPSIS:
In Germany, Europe’s biggest open-pit coal mine forces villages to yield and thousands of people to abandon their homes in order to dig for valuable lignite. A young woman lives with her mother as the last residents in one of these ghost towns and has to defend her homeland from final extinction.

BIOGRAPHY:
Benjamin Pfohl was born in Cologne, Germany in 1985. After spending his teenage years in the Rhineland he works for several years on national and international film productions both in the movie direction and production department. Since 2008 Benjamin Pfohl studies at Munichs University for Television and Film. Among his films: Ghosts (2014), Amazigh Ghostland (Doc, 2013), Jaeger (2011) and Munich Bohème (2009).
