‘La Fuga – Girl In Flight’ is the story of 11-year old Silvia whose life at home is consumed by her mother’s clinical depression. When no one will take the time to fulfill her dream to visit Rome, she runs away, determined to see it for herself. On a train, she meets Emina, and begins following her through the streets of Rome to her gypsy camp. Shot in a real Roma camp with resident non-actors, ‘La Fuga – Girl In Flight’s beautiful imagery, captured by award-winning cinematographer Vladan Radovic, reflects the frightening and exciting emotional journey of a young girl coming into her own.

At Ostia a group of drug addicts spends the whole day trying to procure drugs using every possible means. Two of them, Cesare and Michela, decide to get out and try to kick the habit, but their last dose leads them to tragedy. Michela feels sick, Cesare takes her to the hospital, but he is killed by two plain-clothes policemen who try to stop him.

A pair of care-worn hands drums a traditional Spanish rhythm on the table. What kind of a rhythm does the world follow today? Old rituals and modern life have long since merged and it’s extremely hard for young people to find their place in society.
At 16, Simón, is already a father. He lives with his wife and child at his parents’ house. Unable to find a steady job, the mood at home is far from upbeat and his father is not averse to taking the belt to him from time to time. He spends his time hanging out with his friend Jota, mugging pupils at school, stealing cattle and getting mixed up with criminals. Jota’s girlfriend Debi touts cocaine while she babysits in the park. The couple is rarely cheerful. Debi’s unwanted pregnancy brings a bit of hope into Jota’s life but, without the support of a genuine family, there’s not much of a future for this young generation.

After his gay teenage son, Pablo, is badly beaten up by some homophobic youngsters, Juan, a withdrawn manager at a mannequin factory struggles between having to pay his son’s exorbitant medical bills and his last attempt at making partner at his company. As he runs into dead-ends and unexpected betrayals, he’ll discover that the world can be violent with him too. Juan has made too many mistakes, but his son can still be saved.

These two countries are united by the story of a little girl, Sakiko. The tale of the father alternates with other stories and testimonials from adoptions.

Bar Mario

Since 70 years ago, the “ship” Bar Mario has been moored in the middle of dolomites on the border of Italy and Austria. Captain Marina, a middle-aged woman, a wife, a mom, runs a bar, takes care of her husband and, at the same time, raises a son who is regarded to be “special” by the society. The customers of this café live together with the family; only one door separates the bar from the rest of their house. In Bar Mario, the reality and fiction are mixed and a tragicomic portrait of an extended Italian family is presented.

Puzzle città immaginate

Puzzle, a social reality deeply rooted in the Tufello area today and appreciated by its citizens, was first started in Rome in 2011. It originated from the meeting among dell’Onda student movement and some of the precarious workers living in the district, when they occupied a former public building in Via Monte Meta.
Puzzle has become an reality in these five years, an alternative social model arisen from the bottom, that offers a series of social activities such as student residency, the Italian language school for immigrants or popular school. Today, the City Government has ordered the immediate evacuation of the building.
