Early evening – a big city. Two teenagers shyly flirt with each other, a housewife sits down to watch her daily soap, nurses in a hospital gossip before the nightshift starts, a trendy couple drives through rush hour, so excited they can hardly wait to get home – a man with a rifle enters a building seeking revenge. In the blink of an eye seemingly unrelated events turn upside down what were once secure, happy, “normal” lives. Behind fear, beyond the unexpected, there is love and hope.

Thanks to the perseverance of a dance master, some street children living in Ho Chi Minh City – taken by the eruptive power of HipHop – succeeded in creating a dance group, building a home, finding many brothers and a positive perspective for their future. HCMCbabyACTION was born from a chance meeting between royal.rhythm.composer and these young artists. Since a direct communication between the movie director and the crew was impossibile due to a linguistic difference, the camera becomes the interface to fix the emotions of those days.

In Taiga, in the deserted village there lives an old man Ivan and his seven-year-old grandson Leshka. A pack of feral dogs devours everything alive in the neighborhood. One of these dogs is Leshka’s best friend. Sometimes their uncle Yuri brings food to them. Once, on his way back from Ivan’s village uncle Yuri is attacked by dogs and perishes. Ivan and Leshka stay without supply. Once Leshka witnesses Ivan shooting at “his” dog and runs away. The old man finds him in a dry well, but he fails to get him out on his own. Ivan sets out through Taiga in search of help. Not the dogs are hunting him. And the boy is waiting…

Horitoshi Sensei is one of the last accomplished masters of irezumi, the art of traditional Japanese tattoo. Pascal is a young French journalist specialized in tattoo who discovered Horitoshi’s designs in a magazine and felt in love with them. Although he does not have much money, Pascal decided to go to Tokyo to have all his back tattooed by Horitoshi. When the film starts, he is at his fourth trip, but his tattoo is far from being finished. Pascal is our guide in this travel to discover irezumi.
