SYNOPSIS:
The Neue Nationalgalerie in Berlin, opened in 1968, is an epoch-defining structure by the architect Mies van der Rohe. Nearly 50 years later, Ina Weisse examines the period in which this unique edifice was constructed. She is the daughter of the architect Rolf Weisse, who used to work with Mies van der Rohe in Chicago. In many interviews with her father, Mies van der Rohe’s grandchild Dirk Lohan, David Chipperfield who renovated the building and others, Ina Weisse tries to figure out how the edifice came into existence, and what is the vision of the world this building represents.

BIOGRAPHY:
Ina Weisse is a Berliner. After graduation, she trained as an actress at the prestigious Otto Falkenberg school obtaining many engagements. Then she trained as a director; her thesis film “Alles anders” won the First Steps Award in 2002. Her first feature film “The Architect” (Berlinale, 2009) won the prize for best screenplay at the Max Ophüls-Filmfestival. As an actress, she starred in many movies and tv films, including “Duell in der Nacht”, “Schneeland”, “Nichts als Gespenster “, “Im Dschungel” and “Das Ende einer Nacht” (prize for best actress, the Günther-Rohrbach-Filmpreis, the Adolf-Grimme-Preis).
