SYNOPSIS:
A young Italian mother is living a life of part-time prostitution in Austria, unbeknownst to her friends and family. Everything seems to be going well until her secret is discovered.
The wrath of the small mountain community where she lives is then unleashed against her, it also affects her son, and reveals all the hypocrisy and narrow-mindedness that hover over the apparent stillness of` the village.
Through this excruciating process, the woman will succeed in leading her son and her partner to an unexpected growth – the two learn to accept the woman she is, and to accept each other, as, together, they find their place in the world.

BIOGRAPHY:
After graduating in Arts at the University of Bologna, in 2014 Giovanni Aloi directs the short film “A passo d’uomo (Manhole)”, selected at the Cannes Film Festival and into the final five at the David di Donatello national film award. The second short film "E.T.E.R.N.I.T." (2015) was nominated for the European Film Award and selected for competition at the 72° Venice Film Festival and Clermont-Ferrand International Short Film Festival. "Tierra Virgen (Virgin Land)", filmed in Peru and shown at the Young Italian Author’s section of the 73° Venice Film Festival, is the final part of the trilogy dedicated to the workers. “Tensione Superficiale (Surface Tension)” is the director’s first feature film.
