SYNOPSIS:
Sophia reflects on her past in the last hours of her life. She is a young, vibrant woman who falls in love with a gypsy boy, Leo. Through dance movements, light is shed on many faces of love and life, pressures we place upon ourselves, and those that others place ont us. ‘Where We Begin’ is a story of courage, perseverance and the strength to endure all other obstacles.

BIOGRAPHY:
Originally from Osaka, Japan, Miyazaki began her career as a stage performer singer/actress at an early age. Her USC MFA film 'Tsuyako' has been presented in over 100 film festivals worldwide, and won 43 awards. In 2013, she was chosen as one of the 5 directors from around the world to write and direct a short film for The Weinstein Company and Lexus International. Her live action & animated short film 'A Better Tomorrow' was the collaboration piece with award-winning animation director Morimoto. The film was premiered in 2013 in the Festival de Cannes. Her past projects include Subaru Dramatic Cinema Series -- commercials and short films. Miyazaki believes in the power of visual communication, and that it changes society and the minds of the people.
