SYNOPSIS:
The daily life in a third-class sleeping car in the trans Siberian train called Vostok n°20. In the small uncomfortable wagon, people share meals and conversations with strangers to kill time. A long trip and a portrait of nowadays Russia, its four seasons and 7 time zones passing before our eyes.
In the form of literary counterpoint, poems of Marina Tsvétaïeva told by Fanny Ardant illuminates the feelings of passengers: their loneliness, their desires for freedom and love.
In this ordinary yet mythical train, Russia of the great authors blends with the one from the passengers, anonyms heroes of the trans Siberian.

BIOGRAPHY:
Elisabeth Silveiro is a French filmmaker with Russian-Cuban origins. She studied Editing at IAD Belgium Cinema School and received her diploma in 2011. Currently, she is working on “Stray Cats”, a collective feature with 5 other directors. In 2018 she co-directed the short film “The lost ones”, produced by the G.R.E.C. She likes to explore the themes of origins, time and self-seeking. “Vostok n°20” is her first film.
