SYNOPSIS:
The ancient beliefs and customs of the remote island of Socotra went unchanged for centuries, hidden from the eyes of the wider world. Yet now, in the face of global change, its people have the chance to redefine and improve their lives. This is the story of how Socotra is emerging from its isolation.

BIOGRAPHY:
Carles Cardelús is a Spanish director who has collaborated with production teams on many international films including I Want To Be A Soldier (2012) and The Good Heart (2009). He recently directed his first film, the award winning documentary Socotra: The Hidden Land (2014) and is currently co-director of the production company Kilogram Box and a lecturer at the Universitat Internacional de Catalunya (UIC).
