SYNOPSIS:
The story of a Zanzibari woman, Samira, who aspires to have a family like all of her friends, but she is also determined to pursue a higher education and a career. Throughout 7 years of her life, social pressure and the respect of traditions, constantly confront her to choosing one over the other. Should she renounce to being simply a mother or to continue fighting to become also an independent modern woman? “Ndoto Ya Samira” is an allegory that speaks to all of us.

BIOGRAPHY:
Nino Tropiano worked in theatre both as actor and stage manager for two years. Employed as still photographer, he later graduated in film direction and production with the award-winning documentary “My Daughter Does Madonna”. Among his works: “Mary’s last show”, “Class Reunion”, “The Fall” (Winner Premio Urlo at Pescara Unimovie International short film festival), “Chippers” (Special Mention at the Italian Documentary Festival Hai visto mai?). Nino Tropiano is currently preparing a music documentary “Wild man Jazz”.
