SYNOPSIS:
During the 60’s-70’s, under law number 167/62, many ambitious dwelling projects were accomplished in the suburbs of Rome, both in light of their quality and for the number of homes. The sum of various factors resulted in works of a great architectural and urban value, despite sometimes they showed problems especially where the creators had invested more interest: the creation of a new society that would benefit from a new conception of urban space. “Rome 167/62” wants to explore precisely the relation between exemplary planning that drives to the conception and execution of these urban developments and the result therein.

Carlos Higinio Esteban is an architect interested in the transformation of the suburban landscape, the insertion of artificial elements in nature, industrial processes and the relationship between human activity and the environment. Author of many urban requalification projects, he won many awards, among which Ecosur Prize for Sustainable Architecture, and worked on large-scale urban projects with Ateliers Jean Nouvel and Herzog & de Meuron. His works have been exhibited internationally and received scholarships and awards from ArteLaguna and AADK Spain among others.
