SYNOPSIS:
The documentary tells the problem of school dropout in Naples and Palermo, two symbolic cities, rich of culture in every alley, but also robbed of possibilities, with districts where the school is a luxury, a meaningless institution to ignore. Many are the reported interviews with teachers, social workers, young students, headteachers, syndacalists and with the Minister of Education, and also with adults who live on their skin the consequences of not giving space to the school. They tell moments lived on the street and stories of classrooms that try to resist in places where the phenomenon is very high. Some cartoon help to analyze the issue of dispersion in Italy.

BIOGRAPHY:
Lorenzo Giroffi is an Italian filmmaker and writer who has won two journalism awards and written two novels. His works have focused on socioeconomic issues in Italy (waste management and public water) and abroad (like revolutionary movements in Tunisia and Egypt and the institutional transition in Kosovo). He traveled along the borders of Iraq, Syria and Turkey, recording testimonies of Kurds: from this experience he made the documentary "My name is Kurdistan". Recently covered the conflict in Donbass, narrated with a book "La guerra che non c'è" and a documentary Fratello contro Fratello, for the Italian television.
