SYNOPSIS:
Twenty-years-old Ombline is sentenced to 3 years in prison after a violent assault. Just when she has lost all hope in the future, and event turns her life upside down: she discovers that she’s pregnant. Some months later, she gives birth to Lucas. The law allows Ombline to raise her son during his first 18 months. But Ombline fights to keep him for as long as possible and to convince the judge that she is able to look after Lucas once she is out of prison. In this dark prison universe, this woman who has become a mother begins her struggle to rebuild her life by fighting for her child.

BIOGRAPHY:
Born in 1983, Stephane Cazes graduated from ESRA in 2004. His first short film, LEchange des Regards, which he wrote, directed, and produced gained him three awards and it took part in the 30 film festival selections. He then worked on a number of projects in the role as writer, director, producer, assistant director, camera operator, an editor. At the same time, he worked as volunteer for several prison associations. He has been working for two years in various prisons as part of an academic course which included socio-cultural activities to involve prisoners. One of these activities was the realisation of a short film, which has also inspired Cazes latest work, Ombline.
