SYNOPSIS:
In collaboration with European Film Promotion (EFP), this year’s RIFF hosts the Forum IV edition that will focus on “Possible Distribution (channels)”.
Established since 2009, this prestigious event represents a great opportunity to observe and discuss European independent productions. Guests of the event are young European independent film producers who, thanks to their works, have been enlisted by the EFP in the meritorious short list “Producer on the Move” at 2011 Cannes Film Festival.
This year main focus is to address the long-standing problem of independent cinema distribution as experienced by European producers, in order to understand how the evolution of technology and the constant state of upheaval of the digital content market may affect distribution dynamics in the upcoming future.
The Italian representative for “Producer on the Move” are Marta Donzelli (Vivo Film); representing Poland is Lukasz Dzieciol (Opus Film), producer of “Courage” directed by G. Zglinski winner of the Special Jury Award at 2011 Warsaw Film Festival; Czech Republic is represented by Radim Prochazka (Produkce Radim Prochàzka s.r.o.) who produced K. Vachek’s visionary documentary “Obscurantist and His Lineage”; Iceland representative is Hlin Johannesdottir (Zik Zak Filmworks) who produced “Volcano” by R. Rúnarsson, selected at 2011 Cannes International Film Festival (Director’s Fortnight) and winner at Chicago International Film Festival; finally, Denmark’s spokesperson Jesper Morthorst (Alphaville Pictures), producer of “Room 304” directed by B. Stærmose, Best Original Score at Karlovy Vary International Film Festival.
Representatives of Italian biggest players in film and digital content distribution will also take part in a two-session round table coordinated and moderated by entertainment law attorney Mr. Leonardo Paulillo in collaboration with Mrs. Graziella Bildesheim (Maia Workshops).
Rai Cinema, Cinecittà Luce, Sky Cinema, You Tube Italia, Colorado Film, Bolero Film, Wazzap.TV, Indicinema and more, are also going to attend the Forum.
The event is organized and sponsored in collaboration with Istituto Luce Cinecittà, Iceland Film Center, Czech Film Center, Polish Film Institute, Danish Film Institute and with the support of Italy’s most important film associations: APE, AMEC and Associazione Giovani Produttori Cinematografici (AGPC).
