SYNOPSIS:
Liberi Nantes FC is a football team formed by refugees and asylum-seekers who takes part in the third division of the Italian League. As refugees they’re not allowed to win the cup because they’re not in possess of the documents required by the Italian Football Federation. The situation of the team symbolizes, in a social scale, the impossibility of the immigrants to achieve their personal goals as citizens and human beings. The soccer field is the opportunity for telling the life of three African boys during the summer of 2016 in Rome.

MELKANAA collective is made of 13 young authors belonging to various artistic and academics fields: from cinema to plastic arts, from social studies to history. This plurality of points of view defines the style, and the strenght, of the movie. Melkanaa in Mandinga language means “the things that will come”, “The away game” is the first work of the collective.
