A few days after their arrival in Italy for a romantic holiday, Christopher Roth, a successful writer of serial killer novels, (Joaquim de Almeida) and his wife Catherine (Anna Galiena), are informed, while reading the newspaper, about a young couple bruttally murdered in the woods, not far from the Roth’s rented house. Roth suddenly gets pulled back into his nightmares. “It’s hard to resist that little thrill you feel right before you go beyond the imaginary and flirt with reality”. The local serial killer called “The Wild Boar” is a Christopher Roth fan, and send him a letter: “Dear Mr Roth, I can’t tell you how happy i was when i heard you were in our region. I’m one of the most fervent admires”. The “Wild Boar” becomes the worst nightmare Roth and his wife could ever imagine

In the Andes in southern Colombia, the indigenous and peasant communities resist the armed conflict between the Colombian army and FARC guerrillast hrough peaceful means. The indigenous people
are today only 3% of the Colombian population, and are in danger extermination. In the Cauca region, however, they are 80% and are leading a process of genuine democratic participation in order to achieve a model of development that respects people and the environment. Two women are the key witnesses: Enelia Salinas, Mayor of Caldono, and Aida Quilcué indigenous leader of the movement in Cauca region.

Un Sueño a Mitad

Quando Castro e Guevara, subito dopo la Rivoluzione, varcarono per la prima volta la soglia de L’Avana Country Club per fare una partita a golf, conversando su cosa la Rivoluzione potesse dare al popolo decisero che in quel parco, un tempo dedicato al solo divertimento dei ricchi, sarebbe sorto il più importante centro culturale del Sudamerica, dove migliaia di studenti dall’America Latina, dall’Africa e dall’Asia avrebbero studiato l’arte gratuitamente. A trasformare questo sogno in realtà furono chiamati tre giovanissimi architetti, due dei quali italiani: Vittorio Garatti, Roberto Gottardi e Ricardo Porro. Un Sueño a Mitad racconta tre storie di vita piene di passione, un’esplosione emozionale mossa da puro idealismo, un concentrato di arte, cultura e politica che improvvisamente si è spezzato, lasciando al corso del tempo il degrado naturale delle costruzioni non terminate.

“Red Poet” is a biographical film of San Francisco Poet Laureate, Jack Hirschman. For five years, filmmaker Matthew Furey followed the Poet to cafes and art galleries, to bookstore poetry readings in Los Angeles and Venice, Italy. The result is a skilful weave of the person and the place, the past and the present told through the voice of a North Beach poet,
who represents a special American tradition – an America of its progressive cultural past, of poets such as Walt Whitman and Woody Guthrie – now in danger of being lost to history.
