SYNOPSIS:
During the Second World War, the Abbey of Montecassino was identified as one of the places to preserve from German looting and Allied’s bombs as part of the Italian cultural heritage. In October 1943 this certainty faltered. Crucial moments and tormented decisions which made it possible to save much of this treasure and to be able to return it to the Italian and world community after the war.
