Salvatore Aloise
Italian but French by adoption, has grown in the
north-east of France. He has been living in Rome
since 1988 and writes for French newspapers, radio
and television.
He is been the correspondent of the
Le Monde newspaper since 1991 and of the Franco-
German cultural television channel Arte since 1996.
Gianluca Arcopinto
Italian film producer and director. After getting his
degree in Italian literature, he graduated in Organization
of Production at the Experimental Centre of
Cinematography in Rome. In 1998 he founds the Pablo
Film, one of the most important production companies
in the young independent film Italian scenario. Outsider
producer appreciated for its total independence and
ability to identify new talent – among them Gaglianone
Daniele, Luca Minieri, Paolo Genovese, Vincenzo
Marra, Gianluca Tavarelli, Salvatore Mereu, Munzi
Francesco, Gianni Zanasi – he loves to speak clearly
and he doesn’t hold back when it comes to denouncing
the plight of Italian production. He recently made his
debut as director with the documentary “Nichi” portrait
of Nichi Vendola, president of Puglia region. In 2010
was named Producer of the Year by the Fice.
Stefano Bethlen
Currently Head Manager of Theatrical Distribution for Walt
Disney Studios Motion Pictures, he began his collaboration
with the major in 2003 at the Disney Consumer
Products department.
In the “Disney family” Bethlen boasts of having a rapid
and significant career and year after year he has kept
holding more and more positions demanding for more
responsibility. From 2004 to 2009, he first works as Business
Manager and then as Senior Business Manager
for Buena Vista International Theatrical Distribution
and
from 2009 to 2010 he has been the Business Affairs and
Operations Head Manager for the Walt Disney Studios. In
2002, Bethlenshe graduated in “Business Administation”,
attended a postgraduate course in Finance at the LUISS
University of Rome and in 2005 he also got a Master
degree in Media Management and Communication at the
University of Tor Vergata in Rome.
Raffaele Brunetti
Director and producer of documentary films. In 1988
he founded the B & B Movies, dynamic production
company based in Rome, which produces creation
documentary films, ranging from social to historical and
environmental issues through co-production agreements
with major international broadcasters, including
ZDF , Arte, NDR, YLE, SVT, RAI, National Geographic
and Al Jazeera. In recent years, Raffaele Brunetti has
signed as director documentaries broadcasted in over
160 countries. He recently directed and produced the
documentary “ L’Altra Rivoluzione”, “ Gorky e Lenin a
Capri. “ His film “Hair India” has been selected in the
IDFA official competition (Holland, 2008), Festival dei
Popoli (Italy, 2008), Full Frame Film Festival (USA,
2009), Hot Docs (Canada, 2009),
Premio Italia (Italy,
2009), he received the Premio Ondas (Spain, 2009)
as the best International program and the Jury Prize
at GZDOC (China, 2009). He produced the documentary
with Rai Cinema “Housing”, directed by Federico
Di Giacomo, selected in 2009 at the Locarno festival,
CPH: DOX and Turin, in 2010 for the Festival of Thessaloniki,
DoxBox and Reykjavik.
He has been a board member of the Association of Italian
documentary DOC / IT since 2005 and of the European
Documentary Network (EDN) since 2009. He has been
directing the Italian Doc Screenings since 2006.
Valentina Carnelutti
She debuted in theater in 1989 and had her cinema
debut in 1994. Among others, she has worked with
Gianni Zanasi “Nella Mischia”, Cecilia Calvi “ Mi sei
entrata nel cuore come un colpo di coltello” Lucio
Pellegrini “E allora Mambo!” Ridley Scott’s “Hannibal”,
Giovanni Maderna “ L’amore Imperfetto, “Marco Tullio
Giordana’” La meglio gioventù “, Vittorio Moroni” Tu
devi essere il lupo “ She played in an episode of “
Manuale d’amore II “ by Giovanni Veronesi and she is
the main star of “Jimmy della Collina” by Enrico Pau
and “Sfiorarsi” directed by Angelo Orlando. Among
the recent film “Aldo Moro”, directed by Gianluca
Tavarelli and “ Tutta la vita davanti “ directed by Paolo
Virzi, “ Un gioco da Ragazze “ by Matteo Rovere
and “Coco Chanel” directed by Christian Duguay.
Maselli’s main star in the film “Il fuoco e la cenere”
and the Italian teacher in “Mare piccolo” by Alessandro
De Robilant. Actress for Radio 3 since 1998,
dubber and author together with Angelo Orlando of
the screenplay for “Sfiorarsi” and “Casa libera tutti”
with Andrea Caccia. In 2010 she shot a film in English
for the U.S. television “Via delle Rose” about the Meredith
/ Amanda Knox murder, in February 2011 was
engaged in filming a TV thriller with Claudio Amendola,
directed by Monica Vullo and in the theatrical
monologue about Alda Merini under the name of “
Tutta la mia confusione.”
Albert "Birdie" de Quay
“Birdie” studied film at UCLA in Los Angeles, California.
He founded the Santa Monica Film Festival in
1997 to establish an annual showcase of independent
films. Audiences voted on films throughout the
year giving way to the Moxie! Awards, awarding the
best filmmakers at a weeklong accolade held at top
venues in the Santa Monica area. Past awardees
include notable Hollywood celebrities such as Spike
Jonze, Jason Reitman and Gore Verbinski. Some
of the past honorees include Ray Bradbury, Ray
Harryhausen, Ray Manzarek, Dennis Hopper, Matt
Stone and Trey Parker (creators of South Park)
amongst many others.
The Santa Monica Film Festival
also produced monthly outdoor film screenings at
the Bergamot Station and the Santa Monica Pier of
old film classics such as “Nuovo Cinema Paradiso”,
which was a big hit each year. At present, Birdie runs
a successful new media agency called ChiOri Media
based in Venice Beach, California, with a new additional
location in Barcelona, Spain.
Maurizio Di Rienzo
Maurizio Di Rienzo, nato a Napoli il 19 settembre 1958, in attività giornalistica dal 1979, è giornalista e critico cinematografico per stampa, radio, televisioni satellitari, ed é consulente e responsabile di sezioni ed eventi per Festival nazionali e internazionali, occupandosi di selezione film, organizzazione e conduzione di convegni, stages, conferenze stampa, premiazioni. E’ nel Direttivo del Sindacato nazionale giornalisti cinematografici italiani (SNGCI) nel cui ambito dal 2000 cura la selezione dei cortometraggi italiani per i Nastri d’argento, ed è nello stesso Sindacato fra i selezionatori delle cinquine finaliste ai Nastri d’argento per i lungometraggi.
Hilmi Etikan
Writer and film critic in 1973 graduated at the Ankara
Hacettepe University. From 1973 to 1977 he continued
his studies at the Conservatoire Libre du Cinema
Francais and at the Sorbonne. He is the manager of the
Istanbul International Short Film Festival and of the Adana
Golden Boll Film Festival - Short Films Section.
He
currently lectures on cinema in many universities and
collaborates with several newspapers and magazines.
He received many honorary awards and he took part of
the jury in several national and international festivals.
Cristiano Gerbino
He graduated in film language with a thesis on
“suspension of disbelief”, between Rome and Paris.
From theory to practice, he moved first to NUCT and
then straight away to the Centro Sperimentale and
later on he went to study film production in Buenos Aires.
Today, he combines production work to university
research; he writes for Filmmaker’s Magazine, he teaches
“ Italian Cinema History “ at the Cinecittà NUCT
and “Theory and editing techniques” at Teramo
University .
He founded with four partners the Fake
Factory production company, where he is responsible
for developing projects and the sole director and he
produces two award-winning documentaries to international
festivals: “ Ragazze la vita trema “ by Paola
Sangiovanni (Giornate degli Autori 2009) and “ Fratelli
d’Italia “ (Rome Film Festival 2009). In 2010 he is the
creator of the “KINO”.
Marek Golonko
Cultural and social animator from Poland. From 2008
he is the organizer of the International Film Festival
Tofifest and Torun Short Film Festival.

Jesus Garces Lambert
He was born in the most populated city in the world:
Mexico City. He works as documentaries director and
writer , commercials and theater in Latin America,
USA, Europe, Middle East and Asia, winning major
international awards. He has also worked with RAI,
BBC, Artè France, Television Espanola, TF1 France,
CBS USA, Mediaset, Televisa, Metropolitan Museum
of Modern Art NY, Soros Foundation and others.
He
has been living in Rome, Italy since 1996.
In 2003 he founded Appetitofilm Srl, a creative workshop
where new talent and established professionals
of different nationalities, collaborate together side by
side designing and producing documentaries, TV programs
and cross-media mobile audiovisual content.
Fariborz Kamkari
Writer and director with Middle Eastern origin. After
studying Theatre and Cinema in Iran and Europe he
has begun to produce and direct his first short film
in 1993. He has written numerous screenplays for
Cinema and Television in Iran. In 2002 he wrote and
directed his first feature-length film
“Black Tape” a docudrama that debuted at the Venice
Film Festival, won the Grand Jury Prize at Cinequest
festival and participated in the New Directors New
Films in New York in 2003, among many other festivals.
In 2005 he wrote and directed “The Forbidden
Chapter” which debuted at the San Sebastian Film
Festival and won the prize for Best Director at the
Brussels Independent Film Festival, until now the film,
a thriller, has participated to over thirty festivals . In
2010 he wrote and directed “The Flowers of Kirkuk” in
competition at the Rome Film Festival.
Tamás Liszka
Studied Philosophy and Film at the university in Budapest,
his home town. After teaching Epistemology
for five years in Hungary and Norway, he co-founded
the Anilogue animation festival, initially known as
AniFest and now the largest annual animation event
in Hungary and Austria, and the independent film
company SzimplaFilm Ltd in 2003 with a remit to
release foreign arthouse films in his country and
promote Hungarian animation worldwide.
Since 2004, SzimplaFilm’s projects have included the international
licensing of the Annecy winner “District!” and the Academy
Award nominated short “Maestro”. He currently
works as the producer of “Egill”, a new Hungarian-
Icelandic animated movie.
Roberto Silvestri
Roberto Silvestri is an Italian journalist and film critic.
He is responsible for Alias, culture and entertainment
supplement of Il Manifesto, and he is also one of
the voice of “Hollywood Party”, cinema broadcast on
Radio Tre.
After studying philosophy at the Università di Roma,
in the late seventies he began to write for Il Manifesto,
becoming a film critic of the newspaper. At the
same time he is one of the founders of the film club “Il
Politecnico” and among those who are responsible for
the summer event “Massenzio”, supported by Renato
Nicolini, expressing a very personal vision on the relationship
cinema-world. He collaborates with Adriano
Aprà,
Enzo Hungarians, Enrico Ghezzi, Stefano Della
Casa, and others, and he works as an exhibitions and
festivals organizer on the theoretically path developed
by Alberto Abruzzese. He is co-director of “Rimini
cinema” and of Belluria Film Festival. He also directs
the Illegal & Wanted series for Rarovideo
Serena Sostegni
After attaining a degree in Philosophy at Università
degli Studi di Firenze she moved to Rome where she
initially started working in the publishing Industry. She
is been working for Cattleya’s Development Department
for the last years ,
dealing in particular, with
the monitoring of publishing market and the examination
and evaluation of new projects.
Cinzia TH Torrini
Was born in Florence, graduated in the Cinema
Academy of Munich, she is a director and a film and
television screenwriter. In 1982 her debut at the
Venice film festival with the film “ Giocare d’azzardo
“, produced, written and directed by her. In 1986 she
shot the film “Hotel Colonial” with John Savage, Robert
Duvall and Massimo Troisi. After that, several TV
films , often in co-production with Germany, France
and Sweden, awarded in various festivals in Italy and
abroad. In 2003/4 she has a phenomenal success
with “Elisa di Rivombrosa” for Channel 5, the first
costume series of 13 episodes ,length of 100 minutes
each, made for the television. The series is sold in
several European countries and won many awards,
including four Telegatti.
In 2005 she received, the title
of Knight Officer by President Carlo Azeglio Ciampi
for cultural and social issues dealt in her film. With her
company Cassiopea she made two documentaries,
in 2007 the award-winning “ Un incontro con Chiara “
and in 2009 “La Bagnaia - il sogno di Marisa Riffeser”
and in 2010 she worked as director and made the
miniseries “ Terra Ribelle “ into seven episodes with
Albatross Entertainment for Rai Uno. She is currently
working on the miniseries “ La Certosa di Parma “ for
France 2 and Rai Uno.
