And not because the organs fall short (ops), but simply because a tiny little terrorist day after day scientifically pickaxes the couples harmony and solidness, constantly and irreparably flaking the grounds of the couples meaning and existence

El Hombre Nuevo

Stephania is a transvestite born in Nicaragua. As a boy, he was adopted by a couple of Uruguayan leftist activists in the midst of the Sandinista revolution. At the moment, Stephania earns her living watching parked cars in Montevideo. The film follows Stephania in her journey to rediscover her home country, where she was once a son, a brother and a boy who taught literacy and where she now wants to be accepted as the woman she is.

I Married My Family’s Killer

Beatrice and Purudenci were childhood sweethearts. They planned to be wed. But it was 1994 in Rwanda and Beatrice was being hunted. To make matters worse, Purudenci’s family was the hunter. This film documents the lives of three couples that married from killer and victim families in Rwanda. In two of the three cases in this film, the victims married into the families that killed their own. The trauma and pain these couples experience is exceptional, and so is the power and resilience of their love for one another.

Gente dei bagni

A small red-brick building stands out with a big neon light: bagni (bath). This is the last public bath in the city where everybody can take a shower. It’s a microcosm of people’s stories told during one of the most intimate moment of their routine: the personal hygiene.  It’s a meeting place for people coming from very different social environment who, however, have the same needs. It’s a conflict place, where poverty takes the features of violence and anger. Its an integration place because, where poverty dwells, sharing and altruism are values for a rebirth.
