SYNOPSIS:
Effatà Road tells about the migration in an unusual way.
In the first part, four migrants slowly cross the Sicilian landscapes, the ?border? where the beauty mixes itself with life’s hardness. Together with four famous personalities, between embarrassments and insight, they unfold each other, exchanging stories, memories and perspectives.
In the second part we’ll listen the father of a victim of the shipwreck of 3 October 2013. And we will witness a double commemoration in Lampedusa and in Castellammare del Golfo near the cemetery where many of the victims of this insane massacre rest.

Martino Lo Cascio was born in Palermo. Psychotherapist, is the author of short films, documentaries, plays, that have received several awards. He works mainly on issues of social hardship and migration. Founder of the “Nottedoro Cultural Association” which combines social work and art. Among the documentaries, “The windows of Beslan” (2006), special mention at Libero Bizzarri, “Vulpitta Residence” (2008), “The man who looked like a taxi” (2012) and “Effatà Road” (2018). He published the book of poetry “Cuntraversi” (2008) and the novel “The Garden of Memory” (2017), “Gattopardo della legalità” Prize.
